Image styling in Studio 2.0

Release status: Studio 2.0 is available now with image styling and poster editing. The next update will name the styling mode Style Images and add Digitise Physical Art and Artist Submission. Those two new modes are in testing.

In the current download, choose Make Art to style an image, or Make Posters to use the poster editor. Make Art becomes Style Images in the next update. Each studio has its own ten included outputs and its own optional lifetime purchase. A Poster Studio purchase does not unlock Art Studio and does not disappear when you update.

  1. In Make Art, import your image from Photos or Files on iPhone and iPad, or Files on Mac. The original source stays intact in the app's local workspace. Choose another image at any time.
  2. Before choosing a look, set your output size. The options are A0 to A4, 12 × 18, 18 × 24 and 24 × 36 inches, Square 4K and 16:9 4K. Choose portrait or landscape where the format allows it.
  3. Use Fit entire image to keep the complete source with white, sepia or black margins, or Fill and crop to cover the page. Zoom and move the image to decide which part appears in the finished file. The preview and export use the same placement.
  4. Open View all 10 to browse the MCA looks. Add up to four looks to the stack, adjust Mix and Opacity, change the order, then compare your result with the original. Name and save a combination in My recipes so you can use it on another image.
  5. Choose Export artwork. A JPEG at the selected pixel dimensions with 300 dpi metadata is saved in Documents → Art Studio, ready to share or save elsewhere.

In Settings → Theme, choose System, Light or Dark for the Make Art workspace. System follows your device appearance. This changes the app controls and panels; it does not recolour your imported image, chosen white, sepia or black canvas margins, or exported JPEG.

For A1 portrait, the exported file is 7016 × 9933 pixels. A 300 dpi tag describes the file's intended print scale; enlarging a small source image cannot create detail that was not in the original. Some large formats and layered looks need substantial device memory.

Ten completed Make Art outputs are included. Unlimited Art Studio Outputs is a separate, one-time, restorable App Store purchase, priced at £9.99 in the UK and $9.99 in the US. Apple shows the local price before confirmation in each storefront. Failed or cancelled exports do not spend an included output. Open Shop to buy or restore either studio's purchase.

Poster Studio

The Poster Studio mode turns your images and words into finished artwork at 300 dpi. Choose A0–A4, 12 × 18, 18 × 24 and 24 × 36 inches, square and 16:9 formats. This page covers importing, exporting and the optional App Store purchase.

Export to a folder

  1. Open Export image files and choose an output folder.
  2. Review the destination shown in the app. The Studio creates a named subfolder inside that location.
  3. The finished poster is always included. Choose whether to add a clean master, then export.
  4. The completion message lists the exact folder and filenames. On Mac, use Reveal in Finder; on iPhone or iPad, use Share finished poster or open the chosen location in Files.

A folder action is counted only after the export succeeds. One successful action counts once even when several files are written. Saving an already-exported poster to Photos does not count again.

If an export cannot find its folder

Photos access

Photos saving is optional. Enable Also save finished poster to Photos before export, or use the Photos button after a successful export. If saving is unavailable, check the app’s Photos permission in system Settings. Folder export still works without Photos access.

Unlimited Lifetime Exports

The app offers Unlimited Lifetime Exports at any time, including while included actions remain. The purchase screen displays the live local price supplied by Apple. It removes the folder-export limit for the lifetime of the app.

Contact support

If the steps above do not solve the problem, email us with the device model, iOS/iPadOS/macOS version, app version, what you expected and the exact message shown. Please do not attach private source artwork unless it is necessary and you are comfortable sharing it.
